Eleanor Rogers

“My name is Eleanor Rogers, I’m a director, writer and photographer from Co. Louth. I graduated from the National Film School, IADT, in 2018 with a First-Class Honours Degree in Film & Television Production with a major in directing and a minor in Sound. I wrote and directed my first short film ‘Breastfriends’ which premiered at the GAZE International LGBT Film Festival, Dublin in 2018 and won Best Irish Short.

Following on from this success, Breastfriends was selected for a number of national and international film festivals. In 2019, I was runner up at The Emerging Director Awards for my directorial debut.

In the last two years I’ve combined my love of film and sound and took the plunge into directing music videos. I’ve worked and collaborated with artists to create music videos that capture the essence and message of an artists song.

In 2020, I directed and produced the “Cause I was Busy Working” music video by ELKAE. I collaborated closely with fellow members of The X Collective, Laura Keane & Emily Shaw to bring Laura’s track to life. I hope to be collaborating in the future with others from The X Collective on their music projects.

I think the X Collective is an incredible and important initiative for emerging and upcoming artists, sometimes the creative industry can feel daunting and intimidating starting out at first, having a collective that promotes cross collaboration among the two industries is something thats missing from the creative Irish industry.”
